STAIN RANGER is formulated to work on exterior wood fences, decks and pergolas.
Goes great on Cedar, Pine, Spruce, Redwood, Pressure-treated wood and even weathered and previously stained wood.
All surrounding vegetation or obstacles should be covered with bed sheets, tarp, etc.
Try and park vehicles far from project.
Keep animals and small children away during application.
We recommend these following steps to make sure your fence is ready to become TEXAS TOUGH.
For the best outcome, make sure to prepare the wood before you begin applying the stain. The surface of the wood must be
clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, mildew, oil, water, and other contaminants.
Weathered wood must be bleached prior to staining to kill any mildew spores present.
Here are a few Texan tips to staining a fence:
The ideal spread rate is about 150-250 sq ft per gallon. Keeping this in mind will help ensure that the stain will be applied evenly for a smooth finish.
STAIN RANGER wipes off of most metal, glass, and non-porous surfaces; therefore, cleanup is less time consuming. Metal gate hardware and fences built with metal poles can be wiped off with a dry rag to remove stain.
Keep a small bucket of water handy to put the used oil rags in.
On Cars
Try to remove any overspray as soon as possible, utilizing Dawn dish soap and a hand wash.
On Brick, Concrete, Driveways, Stone, and Other Porous Surfaces
It is best to try to prevent any stain contact with porous surfaces by pre-wetting these surfaces with water. The water will fill the pores of the surface, preventing the stain from penetrating. You can then simply rinse off the overspray once you’re done working in that area.
